World Conference on Medical Tourism Health Congress invites you to Phuket, Thailand on September 16th-18th 2009 with up to 1200 delegates and many exhibitors and industry leaders from all around the world

CONFERENCE PHILOSOPHY

 

Based upon the belief of a new way forward and that is, as the world becomes smaller with the invention of super sonic aircraft and the availability of information through the internet coupled with the movement of people, has definitely spawned the medical tourism industry. With the rising cost of healthcare, patients, international companies, government health sector and even insurance companies alike are now looking for ways of reducing the medical cost without reducing the quality of care. Thus, the medical tourism industry was born and is now enjoying a surge interests. The conference philosophy is design to further improve the capabilities of healthcare institutions and tour operators who are key players in the medical tourism industry and to provide each individual patient to be well- informed on the standards of medical information worldwide.

 

CONFERENCE AIMS

 

The conference specifically aims to foster interaction between as many parties as possible in medical tourism industry.

  • To highlight areas of concern from individuals, medical professions and the general public in mechanisms that drive medical tourism.
  • To discuss the build-up of an international medical tourism network.
  •  To highlight Thailand as one of the world’s tourist destination for medical tourism.
  • To show the economic potential that medical tourism has for many countries.

CALL FOR PAPERS

 

  • All papers must be presented in a positive light.
  • Papers should explore the ways in which the themes show up in philosophy of the conference.
  • Papers may treat one or more of these themes in a manner that contributes to a discussion of the further conference aims.
  • Conference papers must be presented to the organizers in the finish format not less than 90 days prior to the event.
  • Closing date for papers will be on December 31, 2008.
  • If papers are not chosen in the first round they may be resubmitted in the second round.
  • All papers must be submitted in a MS Word and by CD.
  •  Authors of papers presented at the conference are formally notified here by submitting the paper to allow for the dissemination of information or the content within the paper.
  • Registration fee of  $500U.S. will apply to all persons submitting papers; payable upon submitting your papers.
  • Papers should not contain offensive language and must take into account cultural sensivities of Thailand.

PHUKET, THAILAND

 

 

Thailand means "Land of the Free People" but many have described Thailand aptly as the "Land of Smiles". It is located in the heart of the Southeast Asian mainland and spans across an area of 514, 000 square kilometres. The estimates population as of mid-2002 stand at 63 million people. About 92 per cent of its population are Buddhists. Thais are well-known for their friendliness and hospitality.

 

Phuket is the largest and most popular island in The Land Of Smiles. Last year (2007), five million people visited this tropical holiday paradise, 670 km south of Bangkok.

What attract everyone is the Thai people’s warm smile, politeness and hospitality. Everywhere you go, their smiles will light up your day. It's not without reason when Thailand is called ‘The Land Of Smiles’.

 

Another reason to visit Phuket is for its sugary-white beaches and warm water where the tropical sun gives you a tan all year.

 

Flying down to Phuket from Bangkok take just over one hour and shortly before landing, you will    see many small green limestone islands rising up from the sea underneath you, a beautiful sight so different from Bangkok's concrete jungle.

 

Since the sun in Phuket is very strong, every beach have chairs with umbrellas for rent. But it don't stop tourists from getting burned, as the many red body's are a living proof of. It's easy to be fooled by the sea breeze or cloudy weather into thinking you will not be burned. So it is advisable to bring a bottle of that sun block lotion so that you will have a fantastic holiday and like many people, be eager to be back the next year.

 

Put on some sunscreen and hit the beach and relax, maybe with a cold beer bought from your friendly beach vendor that will be more then happy to bring a new one without the need to get up, just wave. There is more than enough time after sunset to shop and eat, shops don't close before midnight and you should be happy to know that water temperature hold between 27-29 degrees, if you should feel the urge to swim.

A must for everyone is the trip to Phi Phi Island where. The Beach with leonardo Dicaprio was filmed and Phang-Nga Bay with the limestone cliffs you saw from the plane.

 

There are two famous show in the evening suited for the whole family. Phuket Fantasea at Kamala and Simon Cabaret Transvestite Show in Patong.

 

For the golf enthusiast Phuket have four 18-hole golf courses with Blue Canyon Country Club as one of the best in Asia. Banyan Tree Golf Club is another good course located at Laguna Phuket, home to several luxurious hotels.

Want-to-be divers should not miss on the opportunity to get an international Scuba Diving Certificate while on vacation on a tropical island. Phuket is a popular diving destination.
