The Operation: Eyelid Surgery or blepharoplasty is a procedure that is performed to shape or modify the appearance of the eyelids. This procedure is frequently done at the same time as other procedures, such as upper eyelid blepharoplasty, facelift or forehead lift, and can be combined with laser or chemical resurfacing to smooth skin wrinkles. Eyelid correction can either be:

• Lower eyelid blepharoplasty is a procedure for treating skin laxity and eliminating excess deposits of fats and wrinkly skin beneath the eyes.
• Upper eyelid blepharoplasty is a procedure to remove protruding or excessive orbital fat that creates a double fold of the upper eyelids.

  The Preparation After Operation:

·         You may feel a "tight" sensation around the eyes and some mild discomfort that can be controlled with oral medication.

·         During the first 48 hours following surgery, you may experience varying degrees of swelling and bruising which disappears within seven to ten days.

·         Your eyes may be temporarily sensitive to light, and you may experience blurry vision for few days, excess tearing or dryness.

·         The first evening after surgery, you should rest quietly with your head elevated.

·         Apply cold compresses to your eyelids for the first 24 hours to reduce swelling.

·         Wear dark sunglasses for a couple of weeks to protect your eyes from wind and sun irritation.

·         Post operative check-up and stitches removal 5-7 days after surgery at the Aesthetic clinic..

·         Use of Contact Lenses resumes after 2 – 3 weeks
